FSB/ KAYA FM OUTSIDE BROADCAST The FSB Consumer Education Department hosted an Outside Broadcast in partnership with Kaya FM at Jabulani Mall in Soweto on Saturday, 14 March 2009. The Outside Broadcast was held in commemoration of the Consumer Rights Month which is held in March every year. The Theme for this year is “Surviving the tough economic conditions – what are the consumer’s options”

Two exhibition stalls were set up, one inside the Mall and the other at the outside parking bay next to the Kaya FM broadcasting vehicle. The Consumer Education Department team interacted with consumers and gave them information on the role of FSB, answered questions, provided advice and distributed brochures.

Elliot Modisa and Steven Bacher presented information on consumer rights and responsibilities, using a loud speaker. Panama Mphanama was also interviewed live by George Biza during his Kaya FM top 30 count down.

About 4000 FSB brochures, 80 FSB caps and 200 squeeze bottles were distributed in a three hour session.

Another Outside Broadcast took place at Mamelodi Crossing on the 28 March 2009. This time the exhibition stalls were set in the parking bay next to the Kaya FM broadcasting vehicle. The Consumer Education Department team distributed brochures to the audience who were gathering around the stall to listen to presentations done by Elliot Modisa (FSB) and Steven Bacher from Kaya FM.

Linda Makhubo was interviewed by Regi Philander during the Kaya FM top 30 count down. The turn out was incredibly excellent. About 6 000 brochures, 200 squeeze bottles, and 40 FSB caps were distributed to consumers in exchange for answering questions about the role of FSB correctly.

In conclusion, Regi Philander dedicated the number one song on his count down to the FSB team and Kaya FM for organizing such a magnificent and successful event!

The event was organized by Deliwe Moroke from Kaya FM and coordinated by Linda Makhubo from FSB.
