List Of Current Investigations
Below is a list of the current investigations of the Directorate of Market Abuse (DMA) as at 28 June 2011.
These investigations are into possible cases of insider trading, market manipulation or false statements. What are these offences?
Insider trading and market manipulation cases are not into the affairs of the companies listed but into trading in securities on the South African financial markets. Sometimes the DMA assists foreign regulators with their investigations. In such a case, the name of the foreign security is reflected on the list.
The investigations into possible false reporting relate to the publication of false statements regarding, or by, listed companies. Details of investigations into possible false reporting are not made public, while the matters are under investigation.
Past or completed investigations are not included in this list.
