Invitation for comments - Notice of intention to vary Rule 16 of the Policyholder Protection Rules (Long-term Insurance) 2004

   

Notice issued by the Minister in terms of the definition of “assistance policy” in section 1(1) of the Long-term Insurance Act to increase the maximum amount for benefits that can be offered under this policy to R18 000 from R10 000 with effect from 1 April 2008

   
Notice Issued by the Minister in terms of section 7(2)(b) of the Short-term Insurance Act to increase the maximum amount to R7 500 from R5 000 for benefits that a friendly society can provide if and so far as it enters into short-term policies with affect from 1 March 2008 
   
Amendment to regulation 4.2 of Part 4 of the Regulations issued under the Short-term Insurance Act. The amendment increases the maximum guarantee amount to be provided by independent intermediaries who collect premiums on behalf of short-term insurers to R100 000 000 from R50 000 000 over a five year phase-in period, starting 01 April 2008

Statutory Notice issued by the Registrar of Short-term Insurance in terms of regulation 4.4(a) of Part 4 of the Regulations made under the Short-term Insurance Act, to amend the prescribed return which independent intermediaries, authorised to receive and hold premiums payable under a short-term policy, must submit to the SAIA.
