The Insurance Division of the FSB consists of four Departments:
Compliance
This Department is responsible for supervision of the conduct of registered Insurers in the
South African Market place and towards their Policyholders and to act against unregistered

Regulatory Framework
The department develops legislative and regulatory proposals, supports supervisory staff in
the application of the regulatory framework and conducts relevant research to improve the standard
of regulation in line with the international requirements and South African circumstances.

This Department is responsible for supervision of the financial soundness of registered insurers.
