Quick Launch

The Financial Services Board (FSB) is a unique independent institution established by the statute to oversee the South African Non-Banking Financial Services Industry in the public interest.

The FSB has 5 core divisions (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services, Collective Investment Schemes, Investment Institutions Insurance and Pensions), and support departments such as Actuarial, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Communications, Market Conduct Strategy, Security Administration and Facilities, Risk Unit, Supply Chain Unit, Information Communications and Technology, Consumer Education, Inspectorate, and Enforcement Unit to support the core Divisions.

The vast majority of our people within the core divisions have a Financial, Legal, or Business Management qualification. Our support departments employ people with qualifications across the board to support what they do, i.e.; HR, Legal, ICT, Education, Actuaries, Communications, etc.

To achieve its legislative mandate and organisational goals, the FSB acknowledges that its employees are the most important assets and as such has developed various strategies to attract, develop, retain and reward them. The FSB is further committed towards increasing the representation of marginalised groups in line with its Employment Equity Plan, including persons living with disabilities. The following are the various job creation opportunities available in support of the broader national imperatives.

Internship Programme

The FSB has an internship programme which aims to give graduates an opportunity and exposure to train within the organisations for a period of 12 months.

Graduate Development Programme

The programme gives newly qualified graduates, with no work experience an opportunity to have exposure within the FSB for a period of between 3 to 6 months. The programme is class room based and offers theoretical and technical training in various business subjects.

Actuarial Bursary Scheme

The FSB has a bursary scheme, which funds Learners who are high achievers, and intend pursuing an actuarial discipline. The actuarial “bursary students” are given an opportunity to do vocational work for the FSB during school holidays. All actuarial bursars are guaranteed a job once they complete their studies.
